Dominic

Domsko

Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Dominic Martin has been DJ'ing in clubs and bars up and down the country for over 12 years, and in that time has played alongside some of the industry's top spinners such as Norman Jay, Danny Rampling, Kenny Dope and Joey Negro to name but four. In terms of music style, it really depends where you catch Dom. He plays everything from house to hip-hop and rock to reggae. Dom has been fortunate enough to play in just about every club of note in the city centre and currently holds residencies in Bamboo and Karbon.

On the studio front, Dom produces under 2 monikers: Dominic Martin - most of these tracks are done with production partner Chris Harris, and the sound reflects the pair's influences in black soulful music, jazzy US, deep and funky house; and Domsko - which reflects Dom's harder, electronic white-boy leanings. 2007 was a breakthrough year for Dom, signing tracks to prestigious labels all over the globe, such as Nordic Trax (Vancouver), Guesthouse (San Francisco), Kingdom Kome (Hamburg), as well as several respected UK imprints such as Tronicsole, LostMyDog and Second Coming. So far Dom's tracks have been supported by a host of international DJs such as Derrick Carter, DJ Heather, Greenskeepers, Mark Farina, Mousse T, John Larner, Demarkus Lewis, Justin Long, John Acquaviva and Funk D'Void. You can catch Dom on Fridays at Karbon, playing a big mash-up of rock, indie and pop in Room 2. On Tuesdays you can catch one of Dom's marathon 6 hour sets upstairs in Bread and Butter.
